Choosing the Right Solar Panels for Your Home
There are many options when it comes to panel manufacturer and features. All installers have their own ideas about product and we are no different in this regard. However, we are flexible and will always be guided by our customers’ preferences, since installation processes do not vary substantially from product to product and we have experience of all systems on the market.
Testimonials
I was Integre Solar’s first ever customer in 2021! Steve advised installing Sunpower panels which were, by some margin, the best on the market at the time. He advised twinning these with a Hybrid Inverter and battery. He also advised installation of a hot water optimiser, which provides me with free hot water. I benchmarked Integre’s quote and found it to be the most competitive. At every stage of the project, Steve kept me fully informed of developments.
It is comforting to see that the figures provided in the quote have been borne out since installation, which has proved its worth and I am very happy with its performance. I would not hesitate to recommend Integre to anyone looking for a high quality system, at a very competitive price and the personalised response provided.
I am writing to express my appreciation for the excellent service I received during the recent installation of solar panels at our medical practice.
From the initial consultation to the final installation, the entire process was handled with professionalism and expertise. I was particularly impressed with Steve of his knowledge and the efficiency of the installation process. The team was punctual, respectful of my property ensuring patient care is not disturbed and ensured that everything was completed to a high standard. I also appreciated the clear communication throughout the process, which kept me informed and reassured.
Thank you for providing such a high-quality service. I am delighted with the results and look forward to enjoying the benefits of solar energy for years to come. I would not hesitate to recommend your services.
I was recommended to Integre Solar in 2023, by a friend. I compared the quote I received from Steve to other installers and found his to be most competitive.
I am very pleased with the resultant installation, which also provides free power to our electric car. During the process, Steve explained that the cost of the panels he recommended came down at purchase so he had a little more margin! As a result, he offered to install bird-guard on our two arrays and a Perspex cover for our battery and inverter, at no extra cost. This was a welcome addition, as it would have ordinarily added around £1K to the price. I really appreciated this and the personalised service we received.
Small touches made a difference to our experience, for example, there were some roof tiles cracked by the scaffolders, so Steve arranged for a local roofer to pop round and remedy, at a convenient time for us. He was very accommodating at every stage of the process.
I would highly recommend Integre Solar to anyone seeking an installer that provides value for money and goes the extra mile.
Back Contact Technology
Having said that, for residential installations, we favour panels that use “Back Contact” technology. This simply means the grid capturing electricity generated by the silicon cells is located at the rear of the wafer, in contrast to a front-contact grid. The manufacturing process for ABC (All Back Contact) solar panels is more challenging than that for conventional modules, but the resultant product bestows many benefits
This type of panel generally costs a marginal amount more than conventional modules but, in our view, the benefits far outweigh the small extra cost.
Current adopter examples are Aiko from China and Spanish maker Eurener. Manufacturers that adhere to this technology have a competitive market advantage, so there is an increase in interest from most other brands.
Benefits include:
Ordinarily, panels will be sited on a pitched roof. However, we can install on flat roofs and have experience with ground-mounted installations.
Don’t be scared of shade
If the site is shaded for part of the day, it would be advisable to fit Optimisers to affected panels. This is because panels are linked in series to form generative “strings”, so shading on one module reduces the output of all panels in that string. An optimiser, when fitted to a particular panel, senses the drop in output and bypasses that panel, thus allowing others in the string to remain productive, hence “optimising” the efficiency of that string.
