Use excess solar to generate hot water
To take advantage of a Hot Water Optimiser, the customer needs to have a hot water tank. This can be an old-style unit, typically found in the airing cupboard, or a modern hot water cylinder.
A hot water optimiser diverts electricity generated by your solar panels to heat water in a hot water tank via the immersion heater. It can be programmed to utilise excess generated electricity after a home-storage battery is fully charged, or prioritised, depending on your needs / preferences.
We will always consider recommending a hot-water optimiser, where applicable. If your tank is also heated using gas, be prepared for a big saving on your gas bill.
There are a number of products on the market, which we keep abreast of and recommend as needed. Two strong contenders are iBoost from Marlec and Eddi from MyEnergi, both UK Manufacturers
Essentially, a hot water optimiser can provide your household with free hot water for most of the year. This is a quick and economical way to make significantly higher savings on your energy bills. It ties in with the concept of using as much generated electricity as possible to maximise savings and minimise use of the supply network.
Hot water optimisation should pay for itself within 1-3 years, making substantial savings thereafter.
Testimonials
I was Integre Solar’s first ever customer in 2021! Steve advised installing Sunpower panels which were, by some margin, the best on the market at the time. He advised twinning these with a Hybrid Inverter and battery. He also advised installation of a hot water optimiser, which provides me with free hot water. I benchmarked Integre’s quote and found it to be the most competitive. At every stage of the project, Steve kept me fully informed of developments.
It is comforting to see that the figures provided in the quote have been borne out since installation, which has proved its worth and I am very happy with its performance. I would not hesitate to recommend Integre to anyone looking for a high quality system, at a very competitive price and the personalised response provided.
I am writing to express my appreciation for the excellent service I received during the recent installation of solar panels at our medical practice.
From the initial consultation to the final installation, the entire process was handled with professionalism and expertise. I was particularly impressed with Steve of his knowledge and the efficiency of the installation process. The team was punctual, respectful of my property ensuring patient care is not disturbed and ensured that everything was completed to a high standard. I also appreciated the clear communication throughout the process, which kept me informed and reassured.
Thank you for providing such a high-quality service. I am delighted with the results and look forward to enjoying the benefits of solar energy for years to come. I would not hesitate to recommend your services.
I was recommended to Integre Solar in 2023, by a friend. I compared the quote I received from Steve to other installers and found his to be most competitive.
I am very pleased with the resultant installation, which also provides free power to our electric car. During the process, Steve explained that the cost of the panels he recommended came down at purchase so he had a little more margin! As a result, he offered to install bird-guard on our two arrays and a Perspex cover for our battery and inverter, at no extra cost. This was a welcome addition, as it would have ordinarily added around £1K to the price. I really appreciated this and the personalised service we received.
Small touches made a difference to our experience, for example, there were some roof tiles cracked by the scaffolders, so Steve arranged for a local roofer to pop round and remedy, at a convenient time for us. He was very accommodating at every stage of the process.
I would highly recommend Integre Solar to anyone seeking an installer that provides value for money and goes the extra mile.
